Welcome to Episode 4 of "One Minute Money Message" where Simon will outline Simple Ideas to Grow, Protect and Manage Your Wealth.
So what's the difference between a Pensioner Concession Card and a Commonwealth Seniors Health Card?
The Pensioner Concession Card is available to those receiving the Age Pension and it offers a a broad range of discounts including cheaper medicines through the PBS scheme, bulk billed doctor's visits where the doctor has that discretion and discounts on utilities, public transport, other services depending on what state you're in.
The Commonwealth Seniors Health Card is again available to seniors of age pension age, which currently is is age 67 who do not qualify for the pension and concession card because their income or assets are are too high.
So it does provide access to cheaper prescription medicines through the PBS and some other government health related services, but not as many discounts as the Pensioner Concession Card.
Having said that, most of our clients who hold the Commonwealth Seniors Healthcare Card Health Card generally value the benefits of $2000 to $3000 a year.
So if you think you may be eligible for either card or would like to know about smart ways to get access, please book a free call on our website button.
Thanks for watching!
Simon
